srgt peppers It was 40 yrs ago today that The Beatles released the hit album. Read up about the album at . Happy Birthday Sarge! And Mr. Shears!

**UPDATE: So after Mike pointed out that the wiki said differently we have been trying to figure out who is correct in this matter. All info gathered points to BBC being WRONG! Check for yourself.

Oh and just to prove that I am not making this up, I grabbed a screen capture of the bbc world service website before (if ever) they change it. , and whats with the full spelling of Sergeant?

  1. Another reason not to trust the BBC or those bloody British wankers.

I wonder how could the BBC have been SO completely wrong on this? Did they run the story too soon? Do they know something we don’t? According to a few sources, the Beatles were still recording their album which is highly documented as being a 129-day period starting on 6 December 1966.

Well in honor of a soon to be 40th anniversary, lets all play that album in tribute to the 39 years, 10 months and 30 days anniversary. Here’s to you Billy Shears and Lovely Rita, Meter Maid!

  2. All Music Guide (allmusic.com) from the above link specifies that they completed recording the album April 1st 1967. But last time I checked, that is still not March 30th. And that to me is not the anniversary we should be celebrating but rather the release. We dont celebrate the day our parents decided to have a kid, but rather our birthday. Just a thought.
