hello.music -Ping Pong Robots
Howdy folks.. so this is my first work since my retiring/hiatus after our 12 ep series. A classic aryn tune complete with robot references, standard hooks and even upright bass (though no whistling this time).
[audio:https://hellocomein.com/soundbox/hellomusic_aryn/Ping_Pong_Robots.mp3]Stay tuned for maybe another track from me someday. It is nice to make something again though .. even if its a rusty first attempt.

A Near Perfect Blend of Form and Function: The 1991 Toyota Previa
Ok so we had to get some work done on our ol’ car this week, and so to see if we were getting ripped off I did some searches. I stumbled upon this old commercial:

Click here if you cannot see the video above.
I just find it amazing how perceptions of “Sleak and Modern” can change over the years.. Don’t get me wrong, its still a great car, just funny to look back at the precise engineering of 1990. I wonder how silly the current apple products or dyson vaccuum cleaners will look in 17 years?
Also have you ever heard such creepy music in a car commercial before?
7 Things the Music Industry Should Do To Increase Profits (Instead of Bullying Its Fans.)
So in response to an article I stumbled upon (article link here) — which basically says that if you receive a promo cd, and for whatever reason throw it into the trash, you are “illegally distributing” said music — I’ve decided to present a model that would rework the entire music industry into something more digestible in our modern world.
A few suggestions:
1. All music must be approved by a centralized “Audio Czar” appointed every 4 years by the U.N.
2. All content will be distributed over approved channels and “secure” methods: namely audio cassette with the tab punched out so you can no longer record over it.
3. All chord progressions must be standardized to fit into 3 easy to digest categories: County, Rap, Classical
4. All tours will be made “green” which means that tours now consist of people gathering in a large space powered by workout bicycles as they watch a projection of the band playing from a pre-recorded session. All audio output will be from pre-authorized cassette tape recordings. Tours will last One (1) day per year simulcast in no more than 30 different markets.
5. A dress code will be issued for “rock-star” attire which will conform to the rigid standards of penal institutions. Jump suit colors are customizable.
6. A music tax will be added to all gasoline purchases to help offset the costs of pirate music operations, and unauthorized audio cassette playback.
7. All cassette playback must be pre-scheduled and authorized by previously mentioned Audio Czar. All unauthorized playback will constitute piracy and require that cassette tapes be mailed back (at consumer cost) to the appropriate disposal center.
I think that does it! Man I can’t wait for the future of Rock ‘n Roll.
Awesome idea I wish I’d thought of:
Premise: take videos of famously awesome musicians (namely guitar heroes) and completely replace the audio with your own terrible guitar solos. He does a really good job syncing up the timing so it looks like Clapton/Stevie are actually playing this crap:

December 2007 EP: Hello Come In, ‘The Last Duel’
One year (and change) after setting out to complete 12 mini albums in 12 months we’ve come to the end. It’s been an interesting challenge to keep up with, and we think we did pretty well despite not completing a single one by the end of its respective month. It was an exercise to see if we could expand our musicality beyond what we’ve done in the past. It was a way to keep up the momentum over the years despite ever increasing busy-ness between jobs, relationships, house cleaning, and laziness.
I’m not sure what the next year will bring, but I do hope that we can keep up this upward arch and continue to create, collaborate, remix, and produce our own music in our conquest of the internets. Thanks for the memories listeners. — Aryn Crowley, December 2007

Hey Ya! Here is probably what will be my last contribution to the hello come in EP 2007 series… it was a good run I must say. I’ll do a few more revisions to this baby along with some additions from the other two and get it done by next week.. Anyway until then listen and let me know what you think.

I’ve done it again. Cranked something out in about 30 minutes ( from picking up the upright bass to rendering the master copy from live).. This is a pretty fun process, it really forces me to make quick decisions with regards to melodies and what not (hence the simpleness), and I think I’ve created a cohesive trilogy of sketches.
[audio:https://hellocomein.com/soundbox/hellomusic_aryn/Trilogy.mp3]I challenge hello.fans to submit your favourite works you’ve created in 30 minutes or less.. this could be anything, some recipe you like, a picture you drew on a napkin.. whatever.. we’ll post the best ones.. (which I’m sure we’ll be inundated with responses) .. [email protected]
